This place makes better croissiant sandwich than Dunkin Donut and Burger King. Stop here for a breakfast croissant! They're rich, buttery and flakey. Most of their pastries was mostly gone by 1:30 on a Tuesday. If you want to give yourself the option of getting everything, it's best you get there early.

Honestly I was disappointed in this place. I was so excited to go and eat some delicious pastry and they were all sold out except for croissants. It wasn't that late either, I'm surprised they had nothing left. I wish I could tell you how their pastries taste, but alas I cannot. Hopefully I'll remember to come back one day to taste it.

I was told about this place from a friend who is very close friends with the owners. She had brought home some extra left over pastries.. there was Apple turn overs n raspberry pasteries.. I never ever tasted anything like these..they were delicious... u just can't stop at 1 either.. I have went to termini's bakeryN couldn't find what I have had from this place... went to varallo's bakery too... couldn't find it either.. i have to say best pasteries ever !!! N great prices too..U really get ur money's worth... they r NOT stingy on the raspberries and apple fillings..either ..love them its worth driving down 23 miles each way just to get that tastes u crave for.. again best ever ..

They have flaky and buttery croissants! One of the best in the city ! I personally love their breakfast croissants (sausage or bacon egg and cheese )! Big fan of their chocolate almond croissants too

Best bakery I've ever been to. This is a French bakery, and their croissants and baguettes are second to none. The iced vietnamese coffee is incredible, as is the pork belly bahn mi. I used to live 2 blocks away and miss it so much that we made a pit stop there while driving from long island to Maryland.

Excellent Counter Culture coffee..fantastic croissants and bread. Haven't tried the bahn mi yet but it's on my list. Family who owns is super friendly and knows about baked goods. Another semi-hidden South Philly gem.

Absolute best French pastry spot in Philly. Made fresh daily (obv). Try the almond croissant! Try the special pastries! Try the bread! Really try anything you cannot go wrong here. Tasty coffee of different varieties also!

Get here early before they run out of their delish croissants. I recommend the bacon, egg and cheese croissant or the almond croissant. Don't order the large size espresso drinks; you don't get any more than a medium.

They seriously make the best french pastries, in philly . Amanda and Andre are super nice and could say firsthand that everything they sell is fresh and made by hand , cant say that about pastries these days . You have to support bakeries that dont use any persevatives and care about what they sell you .

As an ex NYC area transplant- I've tried lots of great french baked goods. However, I have to say this is the absolute best. The croissants are flaky, buttery, crunchy but airy- eating one is a fantastic experience. Their breakfast croissant sandwiches are made with fresh eggs along with very good bacon, ham or sausage patty. The baguettes are amazing and keep fresh for several days. The sweets are equally impressive. I love the chocolate croissant because they chocolate is well balanced within the pastry- not too rich, just right. However, I have to say that after trying their almond pastries- the chocolate has become a thing of the past. Have turned on so many friends to this place, with every first impression being described as "amazing."

Great bakery! High quality bread and the bahn mi is great! I’ve tried bahn mi throughout south Philly and this place does it well. They add more fat spread than other places, but it works especially well with the tofu sandwich. It’s pricer, but also better quality and larger portions.

Already tried around 60% of the items... They are all so good, but the Tofu Bahn Mi will change your life. I’m a pork belly Bahn Mi fan and I just cannot not order the Tofu one...A spectacular arrangement of flavors and textures served on the best House baked French Baguette in town.

There is a reason they were finalists for James Beard Foundation Award. So glad our friends showed us this great location.

Fantastic! Amanda and Andy are expert bakers and the almond croissant, the pistachio croissant, the almond finger, and in the ham and cheese sandwich were absolutely fantastic! Please see the picture. That is what was left. It will always be what is left because the food is so delicious you can't help but eat everything.

THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH just FYI. We reached there just before they closed. So they were wiped out of most of the goodies. The Cambodian owner was so gracious. Their pork belly Banh Mi was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten partly because of their wonderful baguette. Their custard filled Beignet was heaven! Best custard ever. I was not impressed by their croissant though, the layers were not fully developed.

I just came from here about twenty minutes ago, this has been my first time here in a long while. As soon as I walked through the door I saw Amanda, she gave me a warm greeting and right then and there I fell in love with the place again. We caught up for a couple of minutes while I tried to figure out which delicious pastry I wanted. I wound up getting their almond croissant (which is my absolute favorite)along with their tasty sausage egg and cheese which I am scarfing down as I type this review. I was wonderful being in here and seeing Amanda again. I will definitely treat myself, along with my friends and family to their wonderful pastries in the very near future.

Tremendous breakfast croissants! The bacon, egg and cheese on a freshly baked croissant for $5 is by far the best in South Philly. Friendly staff and quick service! Bon appetite!

Top notch Boulangerie, one of the best in Philly imo. Family owned, very reasonably priced. Located in an unassuming corner building, no frills whatsoever. It’s not about the decor though, it’s about the unbelievably good pastries and bread. Their breakfast sandwiches have become a weekly staple in my life

This is my favorite breakfast spot in all of Philadelphia. Best egg sandwich in the world on fresh croissant. Tip heartily because they under charge for their delicious and excellent foods, keeping them affordable!

This place is awesome! Delicious pastries and top notch coffee and espresso drinks. Staff is friendly and happy to be there. Especially recommend the cinnamon roll! My only regret is that it's not open longer hours.

Amazing Bahn Mi!! A really cute informal spot that's affordable and has incredible pastries and food. I highly recommend the tofu bahn mi with extra spicy sauce! It's my favorite warm-weather food spot. Love their Vietnamese coffee as well: sweet and strong. Check hours before you go, I believe they're only open until the afternoon.

Honestly and truly, one of the best bakeries. Not just in South Philly or even all of Philadelphia, but the Northeast/95-corridor/beyond?Maybe I was spoiled by being able to walk to it for so many years, but don't take my word for it and check it out for yourself!

The best French bakery in Philadelphia, period. Everything is classical and perfect, every time. Also, for coffee fans, their espresso beverages are Counter Culture coffee, but they don't advertise that fact at all. It's totally understated, just like everything here. Cash only, come before 2pm if you want a good selection.

The best croissants in Philly and super friendly staff

Moving to South Philly to be closer to these croissants seems like a reasonable choice. They also make a delicious pistachio pastry. The best in Philly on good days, although every now and again the choux is a little dense. Baguettes sell out early in the day and are very good.
